About Sannomaru Shozokan

A small museum exhibiting a handful of works from the Imperial Collection, including many rare and ancient works, some dating back to 300AD.

Established in 1993, Sannomaru Shozokan is a small museum dedicated to exhibiting pieces from the imperial household.

The exact exhibitions change regularly, with only a few pieces on display at any one time.

The total collection includes over 9,500 pieces donated by the Imperial family, including some incredibly rare and ancient works. These include ceramics, paintings, scrolls, screens and calligraphy, some of which date back to around 300AD.

The Imperial Household Agency provides a calendar for closures over the next few months.
