Gion Geisha Assaults

The Gion area has experienced problems with tourists trespassing, littering, and harassing geisha and maiko going about their daily business. Fines can be imposed on tourists demonstrating bad behaviour, including trespassing, unauthorised photography, littering and harassment.

Please don’t be one of those tourists…

About Ishibei-koji Alley

A narrow 200m long pedestrian-only alley that winds its way through the back-streets of Higashiyama. Like stepping back in time, the perfectly preserved buildings now house traditional inns, restaurants and exclusive bars.
