Highlights around Nishijin
Nishijin is to the north-west of the Kyoto Imperial Park and is a traditional area famous for its weaving crafts. There are several museums and galleries in the area, showcasing the local textiles.
A small two storey history museum showcasing some of the artefacts collected across Kyoto. Offers a number of displays ranging from the Jomon Period (14000 BC to 300 BC), through the ages to modern artefacts.

Museum, workshop, and fashion show in the centre of Kyoto’s famous Nishijin weaving district. Always busy with tourists, but a good chance to see real kimono preparation in the workshop.
