Tsuruhane Shrine
About Tsuruhane Shrine
A shrine dating back to the 13th century, rebuilt from the framework following heavy damage from the atomic bombing.
Believed to have a history back to around 1204, when it was known as Shiiki Hachimangu Shrine.
The shrine was heavily damaged by the atomic bombing, but was not completely destroyed and was rebuilt from the inside out.
Tsuruhane Shrine is one of the stops on the Futabanosato Historical Walking Trail.
