Myojoin Temple
About Myojoin Temple
A reconstruction of a temple with a history believed to date back to the 17th century, including a large ginkgo tree that survived the atomic blast.
Although the exact history of Myojin Temple is unknown, it’s believed to stretch back to around the 17th century. The temple was completely destroyed by the atomic bombing, and was rebuilt.
Behind the main hall sits a huge ginkgo tree which survived the atomic blast, similar to that at at the Anrakuji Temple. Both temples are on the Futabanosato Historical Walking trail.
